Essential Oil Flavored Water

Materials List


 

  • 1-liter bowl
  • Measuring cup
  • 1 tablespoon
  • Wooden spoon or manual stirrer
  • Festive accessories to personalize your drinks (optional)

 

Ingredients


 

PHASE A (Aqueous)
  • 4 cups (1 liter) of tempered water (still or sparkle as you prefer)
  • Honey
 PHASE B (Oily)
  • 1 bottle of Emulsia
  • Essential oil of your choice for flavoring :
    • Citrus Supreme
    • Peppermint
    • Cinnamon
    • Star Anise

     

    Preparation


     

     

    1. Pour 4 cups of water into the 1-liter bowl.

    2. Pre-mix the chosen essential oil with Emulsia as follows:
      - Citrus Supreme: 80 drops in 80 drops of Emulsia
      - Cassia Cinnamon: 40 drops in 40 drops of Emulsia
      - Star Anise: 80 drops in 80 drops of Emulsia
      - Peppermint: 40 drops in 40 drops of Emulsia

    3. Incorporate the homogneous pre-mix of essential oil and Emulsia into the bowl of water and mix well.

    4. Add honey to taste (6 tablespoons) and mix thoroughly.

    5. Let it rest, serve with ice cubes and enjoy!

     

     

    Precautions & recommendations


    • Flavored waters can be stored in the refrigerator for up to a week.
    • Notes: Essential oils do not dissolve in water. Always use an emulsifier or dispersant (Emulsia for food and Emulsium for cosmetics).
    • It is important to know that some essential oils are not suitable for culinary use and should be avoided completely as they are neurotoxic if ingested orally. To see the list of essential oils safe for culinary use, consult the FEMA (Flavor and Extract Manufacturers Association) list.
