Essential oils to help you sleep

Essential oils to help you sleep

Seasonal changes, lack of sunlight, and stress are all factors that can affect the length and quality of your sleep. Use essential oils to restore harmony and calm, and to facilitate restful sleep.

Banish stress: States of stress have disruptive physical effects on the body and will often affect the quality of sleep.

Shorter days: A decrease in brightness affects the body’s production of the sleeping hormone melatonin. Melatonin is only secreted in the absence of light, which is why we tend to feel more fatigued as the days get shorter.

Below is a list of essential oils to help fight insomnia:

  • Bergamot has a calming effect and is often used in aromatherapy to treat insomnia, nervousness, and irritability. When inhaled or diffused, the oil promotes calm and relaxation. What’s more, its sweet and sophisticated aroma is a true delight for the senses.
  • Lavender is a true symbol of relaxation, renown for its sedative and calming properties. Often used to relieve nervousness, irritability, and worry, fine lavender facilitates relaxation and sleep.
  • Ylang Ylang is used to calm nervousness and agitation. Diffuse or inhale the oil to enjoy its soft, sweet aroma.
  • Neroli 5% (Orange blossom) is used in aromatherapy to treat nervousness. Dilute in vegetable oil and massage into the skin or add a few drops to your bath to enjoy its sweet aroma and relaxing effects.

Try these alone or create your own synergistic blend with all the Divine Essence® nervous system essential oils
