DIY beauty oil for winter!

DIY beauty oil for winter!

I don’t know if you’re like me, but personally, the onset of winter is pretty hard on my poor skin! I can feel it pulling in all directions and that’s why I did some research and testing to create THE ultimate serum for skin that, like mine, doesn’t like the cold and the heat too much!

Whatever your motivations, ethical, ecological or monetary, making your own homemade cosmetics is still quite simple (and rewarding!) And @divineessence has everything you need to achieve your projects!

So without further delay, here is THE recipe to adopt to nourish your skin this winter! You will obviously need a dark glass bottle with a dropper and previously sterilized.

  • 20 ml of Rosehip Beauty Oil with a thousand virtues! It’s not for nothing that most natural anti-aging skin care products contain it. Rosehip oil is super versatile and its properties are numerous. It is super rich in polyunsaturated essential fatty acids, which makes it very effective for skin regeneration, in addition to its antioxidant, softening, healing, firming and repairing properties! It’s honestly the oil that comes up almost all the time in my concoctions!
  • 15 ml of Carrot Beauty Oil (macerate). I must start by confessing that I have a soft spot for this oil! I haven’t known it for a long time, but its effectiveness and the finish it leaves on my skin amazes me with every use. Thanks to its high concentration of vitamins A as well as its richness in beta-carotene, this oily macerate has antioxidant properties which act in favor of the protection of skin cells against free radicals. In addition, that of Divine Essence is enriched with carrot seed oil, which considerably increases its concentration of carotenoids, thereby increasing its antioxidant and rejuvenating virtues, all supported by research (I also have you put the link to a study in the references I found on PubMed, which demonstrate the antioxidant and rejuvenating powers of carrot seed oil). Without forgetting the sunflower oil, in which the carrot root is macerated, which gives it softening properties and softening. In short, it is truly the beauty oil par excellence for dull and tired skin lacking radiance! (There are days when I would like to bathe in it!).
  • 10 ml of Apricot Kernel Beauty Oil. In addition to being regenerating and revitalizing, this rich and ultra hydrating oil fights against the signs of aging and brings a real boost to your skin! This oil strengthens the hydrolipidic film, which is why it protects the skin so much from dehydration! WE love!
  • 5 ml of Prickly Pear Beauty Oil. The prickly pear is a fruit from a tree of the cactus family. The oil is extracted from its seeds in very small quantities, making it a very precious and rare oil !! Or la la! Big luxury here! But, its scarcity is not the only reason for its lust; this precious oil has many highly sought-after virtues. It is hydrating, nourishing, antioxidant, skin regenerating and softening. It fights against skin aging, delays the appearance of wrinkles and the loss of elasticity thanks to its extraordinary composition, rich in Omega 6, vitamin E, sterols and antioxidants.

THEN, there are essential oils (EO), little bombs with multiple properties! Since our serum is 50ml, we should ideally have a ratio of plus or minus 1% or 0.5 ml (about fifteen drops) of essential oil in all. The ones I offer in this recipe are really suitable for more fragile skin that needs a boost and a bit of love! Of course, it is possible to change the essential oils in this recipe for others that meet your personal needs, just as our needs may change with the seasons or the environment. Don’t hesitate to do your little research and adapt to your current needs, otherwise, use these as I did:

  • 5 drops of Carrot Essential Oil. This oil, extracted from the seed (carrot seeds) is recognized for its healing and regenerating properties of the skin. Its depigmenting, anti-wrinkle and skin beautifying action make it a favorite cosmetic ally! Its action helps regenerate the skin and mucous membranes to promote the prevention of skin aging, wrinkles and dark spots. In addition, thanks to its bactericidal and regenerating properties, carrot essential oil is recommended for many skin conditions such as acne, eczema, rosacea, dry, dull, tired skin, mature skin, wrinkles. and even for burns (sunburn for example). In short, it is a multipurpose oil that can meet many needs, a must in all serums!
  • 5 drops of Everlasting (Immortelle) Essential Oil. Okay, I’ll be honest with you, given the rarity and craze around this popular plant, its essential oil isn’t cheap. Italian Helichrysum (or Immortelle) is an exceptional oil, appreciated as much for its anti-aging efficacy as for its anti-inflammatory, healing and circulatory properties. Helichrysum essential oil is used in aromatherapy to relieve minor skin irritations and for the symptomatic relief of eczema and dermatitis, not to mention that it will help reduce small blood vessels in reddened skin. rosacea or rosacea. I also found a really interesting study on Researchgate.net with results suggesting that Italian helichrysum essential oil, with its anti-free radical properties, may protect the skin from UV-induced pollution and oxidative stress. WE love!
  • 5 drops of Myrrh Essential Oil. This mystical and precious oil is distinguished by its powerful calming and comforting action on soul and spirit. Recognized since Antiquity for its regenerating properties, it is really a plus for carrying out beauty treatments dedicated to sensitized and damaged skin. In this miraculous oil, it is the abundance of its sesquiterpenes that is responsible for its anti-inflammatory effect and this is why myrrh is used wonderfully in preparations for problem skin (acne, scars, redness, strokes sun, chapping, etc.). I love working with this oil, I also find that it adds a little luxurious and intoxicating touch to the serum.

In conclusion, making your own cosmetics can sometimes seem dangerous, but believe me, it only takes a few times to get used to it and even get a taste for it! It’s really great to make your own beauty products, in addition to reducing our ecological footprint and not using toxic products on our skin. I would also like to add that when purchasing raw materials the costs may indeed seem high, but remember that you can make several serums with the same initial purchase! Which, in the end, is rather advantageous!
